COMFYSOUND
Privacy policy
ComfySound is made by Mark Duppenthaler. This policy covers the ComfySound Android app, including its optional “Remove ads” purchase, and this website.

Playback and local data
ComfySound plays bundled sounds offline without an account. Your last mix, sound levels and tones, saved mixes and names, and app preferences are stored privately on your phone. Playback recovery also stores the mix and timer information needed to resume after an unexpected service stop. This information is not uploaded to a ComfySound server. Android backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for app data.
The app does not record audio or request microphone, camera, contacts, precise location, or broad storage access. It responds to Android audio-focus and headphone-disconnection events without reading your call history.
“Remove ads” purchase
ComfySound is free with ads. A one-time in-app purchase through Google Play removes them. Google Play handles payment and keeps the purchase record with your Google account; ComfySound does not receive your card or banking details and has no developer-operated server or analytics service. The app checks with Google Play which purchases your account owns and stores only an “ads removed” setting on your phone, so it stays ad-free offline and restores the purchase after reinstalling or on a new phone.
After the purchase, the advertising SDK remains part of the app but is not started and requests no ads. Playback, preferences and diagnostics stay on your device unless you choose to share information with support.
Google ads (without the purchase)
ComfySound includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK, which shows ads unless you have bought “Remove ads”. Development and testing builds request Google demo ads, which do not earn revenue. Ad requests use the internet even though playback works offline.
Google documents that its SDK collects and shares IP addresses (which can indicate approximate location), app and ad interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers, including advertising and app-set IDs, for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. SDK data is encrypted in transit. These Google SDK requests are separate from the local playback diagnostics described below.
Read Google’s SDK data disclosure and Google’s privacy policy for its handling and retention. You can reset or delete your advertising ID through Android’s privacy settings. Buying “Remove ads” stops these ad requests.
Where the law requires consent for ads, such as in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google’s consent message appears before the first ad loads, and no ad is requested until you have made a choice. You can accept or decline personalized ads. While consent is required, the app’s menu offers “Ad privacy choices” to change your answer at any time. Your choices are stored on your phone by Google’s consent software. The consent message is never shown after buying “Remove ads”, and playback never waits for it.
Local diagnostics and retention
ComfySound keeps a small local diagnostic log to help explain playback interruptions. It records timestamps, Android version, playback commands and status, sound IDs and levels, timer changes, audio-focus and route events, output recovery, and battery/power readings. It does not record your audio, emails, or contacts. It is not sent automatically.
The log rotates at approximately 256 KB and retains one previous file; retention depends on activity rather than a fixed number of days. Preferences remain until you delete saved mixes or clear app data. Android also maintains its own system diagnostics under its device settings and policies.
Delete data or contact us
Delete individual saved mixes in the app. To remove all local preferences, recovery state and logs, use Android Settings → Apps → ComfySound → Storage & cache → Clear storage, or uninstall the app. Clearing storage resets the app. Local deletion does not delete information already handled by Google or emails you sent.

This site has no advertising, forms, or tracking cookies. It uses two cookie-free analytics services to count visits: Umami (loaded through this site’s own domain) and Cloudflare Web Analytics. They record page views, the referring site, browser, operating system, device type, approximate country, and page load times, without cookies or cross-site tracking; your IP address is used to serve these requests but is not stored as an identifier. See Umami’s privacy policy and Cloudflare’s privacy policy. The app itself contains no analytics. Its hosting provider receives the network information needed to serve pages, such as your IP address and browser request. This website is hosted on Netlify; see Netlify’s privacy statement. External links and your email provider have their own privacy practices.
